Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

BankLiterate.com ("BankLiterate," "we," "us," or "our") is a commercial lending education website operated from Colorado Springs, Colorado. We are an educational publisher, not a financial institution, lender, broker, or credit counselor.

2. Information We Collect

Information you voluntarily provide:

• Email address — if you subscribe to our newsletter, join a waitlist (such as the Bankability Blueprint waitlist), or contact us via our contact form. We use this only to communicate with you about the service or content you requested.
• Contact form submissions — if you reach out via email or contact form, we retain that communication to respond to you.

Information collected automatically:

• Basic analytics — we use privacy-respecting analytics (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics) to understand how visitors use the Site. This data is aggregated and does not identify individual users. It may include page views, general geographic region, browser type, and referring URLs.
• Log data — like most websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) automatically records basic server log information, including IP addresses and access times. This data is retained per Cloudflare's standard policies and is not used by us to identify individual users.

What we do NOT collect (free tools and calculators only — see Section 3 for the Bankability Blueprint, which is different):

• Financial data entered into our free tools and calculators — all calculations happen in your browser and are never transmitted to us
• Social Security numbers, tax identification numbers, or government ID information — we never ask for these anywhere on the Site, including in the Blueprint
• Bank account numbers, credit card numbers, or full payment card information (payment processing, when applicable, is handled by a third-party payment processor such as Stripe, which does not share full card numbers with us)
• Credit scores or credit reports — the Blueprint asks for a self-reported credit score range only, and does not perform a credit check, credit inquiry, or credit pull of any kind

3. The Bankability Blueprint (Financial Analysis Tool)

The Bankability Blueprint works differently from our free tools. To generate your personalized report, you submit business and personal financial information (such as revenue, income, debts, and estimated net worth) through a form. Unlike our free tools, this information is transmitted to our servers so we can calculate your ratios and generate your analysis.

• Your financial information is sent to our Cloudflare-hosted backend, which calculates your financial ratios, and to Anthropic (the company that develops the Claude AI model) to generate the written analysis, roadmap, and recommendations in your report.
• We do not store your Blueprint financial information in a database. Once your report is generated and returned to you, we do not retain a copy of your submitted financials on our servers.
• Anthropic processes this information under its own API terms and privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/privacy. Under Anthropic's policies, data submitted through its API is not used to train its models and is retained only for a limited period for safety and abuse-monitoring purposes before deletion.
• We recommend not entering identifying details you consider highly sensitive (such as full account numbers) anywhere in the Blueprint — none of our questions ask for this, and you should never include it.
• The Blueprint does not perform a credit check, credit inquiry, or credit pull of any kind, and does not constitute a loan application or a credit decision.

4. How We Use Information

We use the limited information we collect to:

• Send you educational content, newsletters, or product updates you've requested
• Respond to your questions or support requests
• Understand how the Site is used so we can improve it
• Notify you when a service or feature you're waitlisted for becomes available

We do not use your information to make credit decisions about you. We do not share your information with lenders. We do not use your information for automated decision-making that affects your access to credit.

5. Email Communications

If you provide your email address, you consent to receive communications from BankLiterate related to the content or service you requested. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time. We do not send unsolicited commercial email to people who have not voluntarily provided their address.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share limited information with:

• Service providers — such as email marketing platforms and hosting providers, who process data on our behalf under confidentiality agreements
• Legal compliance — if required by law, court order, or government request

7. Third-Party Services

The Site may use third-party services, including:

• Cloudflare — provides hosting, CDN, and basic analytics. See Cloudflare's privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
• Anthropic — processes the financial information you submit to the Bankability Blueprint in order to generate your written analysis. See Section 3 above and Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy
• Email service providers — for newsletter and waitlist management
• Google Fonts — for typography (font files are loaded from Google's servers; see Google's privacy policy)

8. Cookies

BankLiterate.com uses minimal cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cookies that follow you across other websites. Any cookies used are either essential for site functionality or relate to basic analytics described above. You can disable cookies in your browser settings — the Site's core functionality will continue to work without cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

BankLiterate.com is intended for adults who are business owners, financial professionals, or individuals interested in commercial lending. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information we collect. Our Site is served over HTTPS (encrypted connection). Financial data entered into our free tools and calculators is never transmitted — it stays in your browser. Financial data submitted through the Bankability Blueprint is transmitted over an encrypted connection to our backend and to Anthropic as described in Section 3, and is not stored in a database. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of any data transmitted to or from the Site.

11. Your Rights (Colorado and Other States)

If you are a Colorado resident, you have rights under the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA) regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and the right to opt out of certain data processing activities. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. Given the minimal data we collect, we expect most requests to be straightforward to fulfill.

California residents may also have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). We do not sell personal information, which is the primary concern addressed by California privacy law.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
